Diego Bonomo was born on the september 9th 1976 in the Rome's countryside, a town called Tivoli
He seeks the beauty of unrepeatable moments to freeze into a picture.
"I try to show and give justice to all that short moments which everyday run around our existence, with their poetry, tragedy and irony that often we don't see. We miss all this due to our daily running, without seeing the beauty of what happens aside our own path ".
In love with Doisneau and Herwitt works, he tries to quit from the classic street reportage in which photos are witnesses of an epoque but for telling a story, to let the eternity of a situation.
Light and colors
He doesn’t dislikes black and white photography but his pictures are usually with colors. Mainly urban colors, city colors which he never sacrifies for a discriminated total desaturation.
”I see some photos already in black and white when my eye looks throught the camera, or happens that after printed or viewed on the monitor a single picture claims the black and white. But often I fall in love of colors, that can be the red of a skirt, the green of a field, the orange of city walls, and in those cases I can’t turn them into bw.
Colors in a photo are details, but often are essential details to create the proper atmosphere”.
Affascinated by sleight of light and by Sabine Weiss’s shots, Diego Bonomo is attracted to night photography where people become shapes, where a single man loses his own personality for representing anyone.
